Root Canals

In the center of all teeth is the nerve or pulp of the tooth. Dr. Woody and Dr. Joe call this area the core of the apple. For a variety of reasons including deep decay or a cracked tooth, the nerve or pulp can become injured, infected or even die – a root canal could then be needed.

A root canal is a procedure that will remove the injured or infected pulp of the tooth. This will create a healthy environment inside of the tooth and allow the patient to save the tooth rather than having to extract it.

*In some cases the patient will need to be referred to an endodontist (a root canal specialist).
